![]() ![]() ![]() They will happen even if a mechanic is fixing a coaster, as the cars already on the track are still running during the fix/maintenance (trying to return to the station so their riders can get off the now-closed-for-maintenance ride) and they'll be heading for that station regardless of what your mechanic is doing, causing them to derail just before they enter. Station brake failures that cause this sort of thing randomly happen and it seems some coasters are more prone to those failures. Is the mechanic in the pics doing routine maintenance or fixing a station brake issue? Are you setting your coasters to more frequent maintenance cycles and increasing their maintenance budgets to the max allowed (120%, I believe)? I take no shortcuts with my coasters, as they're the big moneymakers, so after they are built, I set routine maintenance to no more than 20 mins (though I'll shorten that as a coaster ages or if it's a coaster type prone to accidents, like the wild mouse) and max the budget out to keep them functioning at peak performance. ![]()
